The BBC radio 4 "today" program is continuing a "countdown to war" series, in an edition focussing on the Azores Summit "one more day" ultimatum given by Bush, Blair & Aznar to Iraq to surrender its WMD, Aznar has spoken of his "clear conscience", "a safe Iraq", "not idyllic but positive", "a more secure world"
Commercial Spanish language media titles are being put under copyright pressure to remove out-takes of the interview. You can hear the Aznar interview in its context at this link.

Honestly if you listen to the clip you wonder why they didn't inject industrial strength ketamine in his arse & cart him off to a padded cell. But then you find yourself listening at the end of the clip to the theme tune and opening teaser dialogue of "the Archers" and then you wonder why you even bother with this stuff & where can you score industrial strength ketamine. Or maybe that won't happen to you. It might just be me.

Spanish print media even of the traditional right wing fascist variety is aghast & embarrassed by Aznar's comments. As may be seen by this Youtube copy of one of tonights telly news programs posted by the excellent chomskyvids. Channel 6 began its report with the words what you're about to here is not a spoof, it's absolutely real. Aznar is proud and thanks to his photo one million people are dead.
